Find Arizona LLC & Corporation Records
Arizona corporation and LLC records are maintained by the Arizona Corporation Commission, not the Arizona Secretary of State. The current online portal is the Arizona Business Center, also described by the Commission as ABC, formerly eCorp.
Use the public search to confirm the legal entity, Entity ID, status, statutory agent, principal information, annual-report details for corporations and available filing documents before paying for certificates or submitting changes.
Fastest method: search the Arizona Business Center by business name. If you already know the Entity ID, use that because it removes much of the uncertainty created by similar business names.
Search broadly first: if the exact legal name does not appear, try the distinctive part of the name without LLC, Inc., Corporation, punctuation or unnecessary location words.
Important: AZCC business registration does not prove that a company holds every required professional license, tax account, local permit, insurance policy or trade-name registration.
How to Search Arizona Business Records
The public search is useful only if you open the correct entity record. A similar name by itself is not enough.
- Open the Arizona Business Center business search.
- Enter the legal business name or the strongest unique words you know.
- If you have an Entity ID, use it for a more exact lookup.
- Open each plausible result rather than relying only on the search-results list.
- Compare entity type, status, formation date, statutory agent and principal information.
- Save the Entity ID before requesting records or making a filing.
Which Search Information Is Most Useful?
| Information you have | Best use | What to verify afterward |
|---|---|---|
| Business name | General LLC or corporation lookup. | Entity ID, type, status and formation date. |
| Entity ID | Finding one exact Arizona record. | Confirm that the legal name matches your document or transaction. |
| Statutory agent | Finding entities connected to an agent. | Do not assume the agent is an owner or operating address. |
| Principal name | Finding an entity when you know an officer, manager or member. | Open the entity detail before relying on the relationship. |
How to Read an Arizona Entity Record
Entity details
- Exact legal entity name
- Entity ID
- Entity type
- Formation date
- Entity status
- Reason for status when shown
People, addresses and filings
- Statutory agent
- Principal information
- Known place of business or addresses shown
- Annual-report information for corporations
- Document or filing history
AZCC entity detail pages can show both an overall Entity Status and a more specific Reason for Status. Read both instead of treating the word “Active” alone as the complete compliance picture.
Arizona Business Name Availability Is Not Just an Exact Match
AZCC applies a distinguishable standard to corporation and LLC names. Some small changes do not make a proposed name different enough from a name already on file.
Changes that may not help
- Changing LLC to Inc. or another entity identifier
- Adding or removing spaces
- Changing capitalization
- Changing certain punctuation
- Using “&” instead of “and”
- Changing a number between a numeral and word
- Adding or removing “a,” “an” or “the”
Better name-check method
- Search the complete proposed name.
- Search its most distinctive words separately.
- Remove LLC, Inc., Corp. and similar identifiers.
- Check close spellings and word order.
- Remember that state approval does not settle trademark rights.
Read the official AZCC name-distinguishability rules.
- Review the list of differences AZCC disregards.
- Compare the state’s examples with your proposed name.
- Return to Business Search and test close versions of the name.
- Do not treat AZCC acceptance as a trademark clearance.
Arizona Annual Reports: Corporations File Them, LLCs Do Not
| Entity | Annual-report requirement | Current regular fee |
|---|---|---|
| Arizona LLC | No AZCC annual report | Not applicable |
| For-profit corporation | Annual report required | $45 |
| Nonprofit corporation | Annual report required | $10 |
A corporation’s exact annual-report due date is shown in its AZCC entity record. Arizona allows an annual report to be filed online up to 90 days before the due date.
If a for-profit corporation files late, AZCC says a $9-per-month penalty begins to accrue. Nonprofit corporations are not assessed that late penalty. A delinquent corporation can move to Pending Inactive status while the report remains unresolved.
- Search the corporation and confirm the Entity ID and annual-report due date.
- Sign in to the Arizona Business Center.
- Use the annual-report filing service for that corporation.
- Review the current officers, directors, addresses and other requested information.
- Submit the report and payment before the listed due date.
Filed Documents, Copies & Certificate of Good Standing
For ordinary research, start with the public entity record and its document history. AZCC says most corporation and LLC documents filed with the Commission are already publicly viewable online.
Document history
Use the entity record to review available filings before ordering a separate records request.
Certificate of Good Standing
Use this when a bank, lender, vendor, marketplace, licensing body or transaction specifically asks for formal state status evidence.
Regular fee: $10.
Expedited total: $45.
Open AZCC Business Services FAQs.
- Search the entity and confirm the exact legal name and Entity ID.
- Review Document History to see whether the filing you need is already available.
- Ask the receiving party whether it needs a plain copy, certified copy or Certificate of Good Standing.
- Order only the record type actually required.

Open AZCC fee and payment information.
- Choose the corporation or LLC fee schedule that matches the entity.
- Find the exact filing or record service you need.
- Check both regular and expedited columns.
- Remember that Arizona filing fees are generally nonrefundable.
What an Arizona Statutory Agent Means
A statutory agent is the person or qualifying business appointed to receive service of process and legal documents for the LLC or corporation.
If the agent is an individual
The person must be at least 18 years old, reside in Arizona and have an Arizona physical address.
If the agent is a business
The business must have an Arizona address and be authorized to transact business in the state.
Every Arizona corporation and LLC must maintain a statutory agent. AZCC says failure to maintain one can result in administrative dissolution.
Read AZCC statutory-agent FAQs.
- Sign in to the Arizona Business Center.
- Open Online Services.
- Choose the option for changing addresses or statutory agent.
- Enter the new agent information.
- The new statutory agent must accept the appointment.
Arizona Trade Names and Partnerships Use a Different Agency
This is one of the most important Arizona-specific distinctions: the Arizona Secretary of State does not record corporations or LLCs. Those belong with the Arizona Corporation Commission.
Corporations and LLCs
Agency: Arizona Corporation Commission.
Use the Arizona Business Center for corporation and LLC entity records.
Trade names, trademarks and partnerships
Agency: Arizona Secretary of State.
The Secretary of State handles trade names/trademarks and limited-partnership filings such as LPs, LLPs and LLLPs.
Open Arizona Trade Names & Trademarks.
- Use the Trade Name and Trademark Search when checking an existing trade name.
- Use the online filing system if you need to register or update a trade name.
- Do not send an old PDF trade-name application; the Secretary of State now directs users to online filing.
If your target is an LP, LLP or LLLP rather than an LLC or corporation, use the Arizona Secretary of State Partnerships page.
If You Need to File Something After the Search
Finding a business record is immediate, but a new filing or amendment may require review.
| Processing option | ACC guidance | Extra charge |
|---|---|---|
| Regular | ACC’s FAQ describes regular review as typically about 14–16 days, but live workload varies. | None beyond filing fee |
| Expedited | Typically described as about 3–5 days. | $35 for many filings |
| Next Day | Examination by the next business-day deadline when submitted within the applicable cutoff. | $100 |
| Same Day | Examination the same business day when received before the applicable cutoff. | $200 |
| 2-Hour | Examination within the stated accelerated-service window. | $400 |
Common Arizona Business Search Problems
| Problem | Best next step |
|---|---|
| No entity appears | Search fewer words and remove LLC, Inc., Corporation, punctuation and city names. |
| Several similar names appear | Open each record and compare Entity ID, type, status, statutory agent and formation date. |
| You are searching for a DBA | Use Arizona Secretary of State trade-name resources rather than AZCC entity search. |
| You are searching for an LP, LLP or LLLP | Use the Arizona Secretary of State partnership database. |
| An LLC annual report cannot be found | Arizona LLCs do not file AZCC annual reports. |
| A corporation appears delinquent | Check its annual-report due date and report history before filing or requesting reinstatement. |
| You need a filed document | Check the entity’s Document History before paying for a separate records request. |
| You received a certificate solicitation | Verify the request independently. An AZCC Certificate of Good Standing is not a mandatory final formation step. |
